Air is generally transported from western of the site within Arizona during the winter season. It shifts to mostly from south along the Colorado river and from northwest along the California coast from later Spring to early Fall, especially during the summer. In the summer and fall, flows from southern Texas and gulf of Mexico also become important. Occasionally, air flow from central and eastern U.S. may also reach the site.

Most of the 20% worst days happened in the summer, with OMC and Sulfate as dominated chemical species contributing to haze. Most of the 20% worst days, air is transported from southern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. Although longer range transport from central U.S. to the site does not happen very frequently, it can result in 20% worst days when it does happen.
