Flathead |

The
Flathead Reservation covers 1.2 million acres in northwestern Montana
between the southern shore of Flathead Lake and the city of Missoula, ~ 20
km (12 mi) south of the southern Reservation boundary. It essentially
comprises the southern portion of the large Flathead Valley and Little
Bitterroot River and Flathead Rivers south of Polson and the south shore of
Flathead Lake.
The
FLAT1 tribal site is in the northern part of the Reservation. It is near
a hilltop at an elevation of 1,575 m (5,166 ft), 693 m (2,273 ft) above the
elevation of Flathead Lake, shores of which are within 10 km (6 mi) north
and east of the site. |
