The Yavapai-Apache Nation lies in Yavapai County in the
central Arizona, about 130 km north of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The
tribal area lies in Verde Valley, that stretches northwest-southeast along
the Verde River. The Verde River Valley lies is the transition zone between
the Colorado Plateau and the Phoenix lowlands. Elevation of the valley floor
of this region ranges from 950m to 1100m. The vegetation in the valley
region are grass-land, forest and agriculture. |
