Task 1:
Representativeness Assessments by Region |
|
Results |
|
Regional zone of influence results are summarized in a
table for
those regions that had sites in the western US with data available between
2000-2004. Zones of representation ranged from 90 km in the Southern
Rocky Mountains to 285 km in the
North Central Lowland Plains region. For the regions with less than four
IMPROVE sites, we choose at least one other site within a neighboring region
in the analysis. |
|
The regional representative
distances are utilized to map and determine which tribal areas within
respective regions are represented. Determinations are based upon a
simplified approach of
1) Yes, the tribal area is represented and by which IMPROVE site or sites
2) No, the tribal area is not represented. (Recommendations to be determined
in Task 3) |
|
To help understand which
chemical species is important in determining the representative distance, we
offer a look up table listing each tribe in the WRAP region. This
table shows the percentage contribution
of each of the six major species to the representative distance.
Alternatively, we present the data in form of
pie charts showing the contribution
from each species. |
